The Houston Astros reportedly acquired a familiar face ahead of the 2025 MLB trade deadline. According to MLB.com's Brian McTaggart, the Astros traded for shortstop Carlos Correa in a deal with the Minnesota Twins. Correa will play third base in Houston to replace the injured Isaac Paredes, per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

June 4 — Correa, 17, is selected first overall in the MLB draft, the first draft pick of the new Astros regime of owner Jim Crane and general manager Jeff Luhnow. He also becomes the highest-drafted player from Puerto Rico, surpassing Ramon Castro, whom the Astros picked 17th overall in 1994.

The Minnesota Twins traded Carlos Correa to the Astros on Thursday, according to multiple reports. He will play third base for the team, according to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand. The 30-year-old waived his no-trade clause for the deal to go through.
