By recoding its Lightway protocol in Rust, ExpressVPN claims it has beefed up its speed, security and performance.

ExpressVPN is rolling out major upgrades to its Lightway protocol that are set to make it “more secure, better performing, and designed for more efficient improvements” in the future. On Monday, the service announced that it will reimplement Lightway in the modern Rust coding language.

ExpressVPN has continued its commitment to privacy and security with the re-release of its Lightway protocol in Rust, a modern programming language. The proprietary protocol has been reimplemented for enhanced performance and security within Rust's modern coding language.
