City leaders and state lawmakers are pushing Gov. Kathy Hochul to raise taxes on the wealthy, and they have floated several options.
Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, who is currently running for governor, blasted Gov. Kathy Hochul and Mayor Mamdani’s pied-à-terre tax proposal in an interview with The Post.
The New York State Democratic Party launched a statewide tour this week to call out "100% MAGA Bruce Blakeman."
Mamdani and Menin want Hochul to reduce the Pass-through-entity tax, or PTET, from 100% to 75%, which they framed as a “modest” reduction that would impact mostly millionaires, but the governor says it’s a non-starter.
"I need people who are high net worth to support the generous social programs that we want to have in our state.”
Governor says it has a better idea to keep its product affordable while still helping to support Hochul's record high state budget
