Julen Lopetegui reveals Lukasz Fabianski update after win over Southampton - Jarrod Bowen’s goal settled victory on south coast after scare involving goalkeeper

West Ham United manager Julen Lopetegui said goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski is "alert" and conscious after being stretchered off during their win at Southampton.

West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski was taken off the field on a stretcher after sustaining an injury in the Premier League game against Southampton on Thursday. The game was delayed for around eight minutes as Fabianski received treatment on the field at St Mary's Stadium.

Fabianski left the field on a stretcher in the 36th minute after he was caught late by Saints defender Nathan Wood.

Fabianski was caught late by Saints defender Nathan Wood after he punched away a corner in the 29th minute and required seven minutes of medical attention before he was taken off on a stretcher.
