Eddie Hill, who was a running back and defensive back at Hillsboro High School, went to Memphis and played six years in the NFL, has died at age 67.

Former Rams and Dolphins running back Eddie Hill has died, the Miami Dolphins announced Monday afternoon. He was 67. Hill played for six years in the NFL after being selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the second round of the 1979 NFL Draft out of the University of Memphis.

Eddie Hill was in declining health when the Sun Sentinel spoke to him in May 2017 at the Don Strock Diabetes Golf Classic at Miccosukee Golf & Country Club.

The Miami Dolphins claimed cornerback Ryan “Bump” Cooper Jr. off waivers, the team announced Monday. Cooper, 23, began his NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent last spring. While he appeared in one game as a practice squad elevation, Baltimore cut ties with Cooper in November.
