A Houston police captain who led the auto crimes division is accused of pressuring a girl to send him inappropriate messages and keeping hidden cameras.

Daryn Edwards, 59, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of possession of child pornography. League City Police Department detectives Thursday evening requested additional felony charges of aggravated sexual assault and sexual performance of a child.

HOUSTON — A Houston Police Department supervisor was arrested on child porn possession charges Wednesday night, according to police. Daryn Edwards, 59, was arrested by League City police.

According to the League City Police Department, Daryn Edwards has been charged with aggravated sexual assault and sexual performance of a child.

Daryn Edwards, 59, is now charged with aggravated sexual assault and sexual performance of a child. No bond has been set for those charges.

Officials say Daryn Edwards has been charged with possession of child pornography with greater than 10 depictions/ videos, but less than 50.

Houston police officials fired the man pending the outcome of an internal affairs investigation, according to a statement from the department.
