Quintez Brown's sentencing comes nearly three years after the 2022 Valentine's Day shooting at then-candidate Craig Greenberg's campaign office.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — On Friday, a federal judge sentenced the man who shot at then-Louisville mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg in 2022 to 17 years and six months with five years of supervised release.

A Kentucky man who shot at Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg when he was a candidate in 2022 has been sentenced to 17 years and 6 months in federal prison.

I don’t know how I miraculously survived,” Greenberg wrote Friday. “Six gun shots fired directly at me from close range by a person I did not recognize.”

"It is only a miracle ... that no one was hurt, possibly killed," U.S. District Judge Benjamin Beaton said after a four-hour sentencing hearing.

Quintez Brown was sentenced to 17.5 years in prison Friday for shooting then-Louisville mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg.

Federal prosecutors are calling for Quintez Brown, the man who shot at Craig Greenberg during his mayoral campaign, to receive the max sentence. Brown fired shots at Greenberg in his Butchertown campaign office in February 2022, with a bullet grazing Greenberg's sweater. No one was injured.
