Last offseason, just about exactly a year ago, wasn't the best of times for Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb with No. 88 holding out of training camp as he looked to get his new contract extension sorted out.

It wasn’t like the Cowboys’ offense was bad under Mike McCarthy, the previous head coach/play caller. Last season, the Cowboys finished 17th in total offensive yards (5,567) and 25th in yards per play (5.0).
