A tornado hit a Florida television station while the network’s meteorologist warned viewers a twister was making its way through the area.

The National Weather Service Melbourne confirmed an EF2 tornado hit Seminole County Monday morning. Several tornado warnings were issued for portions of Florida as a cold front moved across the state, bringing rain, strong winds and the potential for tornadoes and large hail.

A television meteorologist broadcast live on the air as a tornado hit his station's studio in Lake Mary, Florida, near Orlando. The meteorologist, Brooks Garner, warned employees to take shelter. Lights flickered during the broadcast and when it was all over Garner said he'd never experienced anything like that before.

Debris rained down outside as the meteorologist shouted: "Get under your desks, guys! Anchors—under your desks! Producers—everybody, get under your desks!"
