A SWAT situation is currently underway in northeast Austin. Austin police reported that a person had barricaded themselves just before 1:30 p.m. on Bartholdi Street, which is in a neighborhood near Dessau Road and East Parmer Lane.

APD says the barricaded subject is now in custody. The subject was involved in a family violence situation and experiencing a mental health crisis according to APD. The scene is not far from Dessau Middle School,

APD posted on X at 1:21 p.m. that SWAT officers were on the scene of a "barricaded subject" in the 12800 block of Bartholdi Street.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area since some roadways may be blocked off.
