Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta issued an injury update on club captain Martin Ødegaard ahead of the Gunners' Champions League tie against Atalanta. Arsenal's captain was substituted off for Norway over the international break and looked to be in severe pain.

Mikel Arteta praised Riccardo Calafiori after the summer signing made an impressive cameo appearance as a second half substitute against Atalanta. The Italy international has had to bide his time for opportunities since his arrival from Bologna in the summer and missed the north London derby as a result of the calf injury he picked up playing for his country a fortnight ago.

Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini believes Arsenal were happy "to settle for a draw" in their Champions League stalemate on Thursday night.
