Balatro was, unsurprisingly, the big indie game winner, winning three awards: Strategy/Simulation Game of the Year, Mobile Game of the Year, and Outstanding Achievement for an Independent Game. Animal Well claimed the award for Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction.

Bethesda Softworks and MachineGames' Indiana Jones and the Great Circle won three nominations at the 28th D.I.C.E. awards, but Astro Bot won Game of the Year.
