Taylor Fritz beat No. 6 seed Andrey Rublev 6-3, 7-6 (4) on Tuesday night to reach the semifinals of the National Bank Open. The second-seeded Fritz finished with 20 aces, including one that finished off the match.

World no. 4 Taylor Fritz will compete in his seventh Masters 1000 semi-final in Toronto. The American faced Andrey Rublev for the tenth time in the quarter-final and earned a 6-3, 7-6 victory in an hour and 21 minutes.

Things now seem to be pointing in the right direction for the World No. 11, as he’s one win away from a trip to the semifinals at the Canadian Masters, where he finished as runner-up in 2024. While Rublev has been erratic throughout the season, it’s hard to poke holes in Taylor Fritz’s game right now.
