Ryne Sandberg has died. The baseball Hall of Famer, who spent most of his career with the Chicago Cubs playing second base, was 65. He later managed the Philadelphia Phillies. Sandberg died on Monday, July 28, the Cubs and Major League Baseball announced.

The second baseman, who became one of baseball’s best all-around players while starring in Chicago, had endured a long battle with cancer. He had announced this month that he was still fighting,
