Fabulous views! The comments about the climb are relative I guess....we are in our late fifties, not in the best of shape, but managed just fine climbing up from the stairs near the market. Just ta…Full review by Bess T

Easy to get to. The stair case leading up the fort is a bit narrow and steep but nothing too intense. Very well preserved and many areas and lots of plaques to read about the history of different por…Full review by 19NV85

I found it relatively easy to walk up in terms of physical ability, but due to the heat it felt like quite a trek (we hadn't taken water) so would definitely recommend trying to pick a cooler part of…Full review by wheretobblog

Hi, I hope you don’t mind me writing to you. Our family is going to St. Martin in a couple of weeks and we are hoping to visit Fort Louis. The thing is that my husband has a limited mobility on the right side and uses his cane to move around. He can walk slowly, but easily 1.2 miles on the flat surface, and can handle some elevation. Do you think the climb to the top of the Fort is something one can handle in his condition ? Thank you very much for your input.

Hi. If you get transport to the car park at the fort then there are sufficient areas that your husband can get to. Don’t try to walk from the main road. There are several interesting rooms detailing the history of the fort. I’m not saying you can reach all areas but do try. We went to the fort as we missed boat to Nevis, but no regrets. Somebody else said the train tour around the island was not worth it. The sugar plantations are gone now they said.
Q:
Hi, How far is the fort from Orient beach and the craft market can you walk easily from one to the other? Thanks , Chris

Very far, you'd have to grab a cab or if you have a rental car anyway, it's a quick drive, but I would advise against trying to walk from Orient Bay to Marigot! It's too far, and very windy, narrow roads. Lots of road traffic. Once you get to Marigot however, there's a fair amount of parking at the base of the Fort, plus the market across the street has lots of spots. But in terms of proximity to Orient Beach, it's not walkable at all.
Q:
Are toiletries provided. Is Wifi free
A:
There's no toiletries and no wi fi. But you will spend about 1 hour only to visit all place. The view is great!
