You are wise to purchase tickets in advance. Also, seating is not reserved. There are three sections (Balcony, Box and Main). When you show up you get in a line (which will form up to an hour prior to the play). As you enter the theater you pick your seat in your purchased section on a first come first serve basis. Don't worry though, nearly every seat in the house will allow you to enjoy the play. Also, they serve wine while you're waiting in line - that helps with the wait, which by the way, is well worth it.
