Hi There Sadly dogs are not admitted. Whilst we were there someone actually asked that question. It’s free entry though and Castlefield is a nice area to walk a dog next to the museum, so if visiting with someone maybe you could take turns like the couple did who we saw.

I am 21 and went completely alone. There are certain sections which are very tailored to kids such as experiment sections where they can touch and play but even that had things to read. The major museum when I went had a section on code breaking which was very adult dealing with spies and the war. If you are interested in the engineering and scientific history of Manchester it is perfect for adults too just may not take you a whole day more of an afternoon trip.

I’ve heard that you can no longer see the aircraft displays (Shackleton etc). Is that true?

When I was there in September I could see them all, but I read in the newspaper that there was a problem with the roof. Perhaps this is the reason.
