Devil’s Head was a rigorous hike that we took on a Tuesday evening in late October. Vistas truly impressed Cherry Wonderdog, and conquering the daunting fire tower at the end put a proverbial cherry …Full review by Cherry_Wonderdog

Long dirt road in good shape. Only overflow parking is open as of today, so include that extra 1/2 mile. Remnants of snow, but trail is open and not muddy. Overlook office not open yet. At 8 AM o…Full review by B5200PGbobj

Devils Head Lookout was one of the most breathtaking views I have ever had a privilege to witness! Now, I will say that the hike to the very top of the fire red stairs, is moderately a workout, espec…Full review by _therealjenn08
Is the trail open now (November 4 - 6th 2016?) Just want to make sure it's not closed for the season before I make the trip.
A:
The trail was open last week and I believe will stay open until Rampart Range closes Dec 1, but I don't think the fire tower at the top is open after mid September.

From Castle Rock you need to get on South Rampart Range Road, so depending on where you live, there are a couple ways you can access Rampart Range Road. I take Perry Park Road (105) to Jackson Creek Road. I follow Jackson Creek Road. Jackson Creek Road turns into road 38 then into road 27. After it turns into road 27 you hang a right onto road 507. 507 will take you straight to South Rampart Range Road. Turn left (south) onto S Rampart Range Road, drive for a bit and you will see a sign for the parking lot of Devil's Head Trail. It will be at a "Y" in the road and you will go to the left to get to the parking lot. You can also go straight to Rampart Range Road from off of highway 67. If you get on Google Earth you can see which way would be shortest for you. Happy Hiking!!
